Hi! My name is April Collins, I have been working in education since 2010. I started out working as a Title-1 aide while attending college. In 2013 I was blessed with a classroom of my own. I have had the privilege of working with students from the ages of 4-18 but the majority of my time has been spent in the Kindergarten classroom. Education is my passion, but early-childhood has my heart!
My wonderful husband Matt and I have two fantastic kids, Mckensie and Colton who are both very active athletes and they keep us busy year round. I am a graduate of Missouri State University. I obtained two different degrees from MSU. First, I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. Next, I earned my Master's Degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Reading. I love everything about being an educator and I am so excited to have the opportunity to be a part of your child's education.

This quote best illustrates the basis of my teaching philosophy. As a teacher I realize that I have the ability to make a lasting impact upon my students and their feelings toward learning. By taking the time to ensure that my daily lessons are captivating, educational, and require student involvement I feel that I provide students with the best opportunity to expand their knowledge and to gain a deeper appreciation of the concept of lifelong learning.
